There is a movie out about a world famous surfer with Autism named Clay Marzo. I just watched it and its quite a sweet movie! I really recommend it.

You can see the trailer here in HD:

This movie does a great job talking about how people on the Autism Spectrum can be successful and the struggles they face (mainly with dealing with other people). I plan on watching this when I get depressed and hopeless now.

I remember watching a trailer for a movie about him over a year ago. I've always wanted to watch it.

I've seen a clip or two. I like the scene where they used "True as the Night" by Aspie musician Craig Nicholls as a soundtrack to shots of Marzo surfing. Marzo makes a statement about how peaceful he feels when he's out in the water. I can really relate to that.
Here's a clip about both Nicholls and Marzo and then the scene I mentioned.

I've only read his ESPN the Magazine article, but it's really good. When he was self-diagnosed (actually I think it was a Quicksilver rep who diagnosed him with a self-diagnostic test), people, including himself, started to understand why he was how he was. He used to be forced onto the contest circuit, which he hated due to the long hours of autograph signings, etc., but now he mainly does video stuff and only goes to the big contests, which he does pretty well in.
