the sun’s livening warmth, hummingbirds, bees, and gilding leaves accenting the morning’s gentle path.

I finally found a pair of shoes that fit after 3 stores and like 10 pairs of shoes later.

I was pleased because when Sainsburys delivered my shopping I got my frozen food free, just because the boxes were damaged.

I remembered something a former colleague (and former medic) told me about an effective technique to shut down what I call "day terrors" (related to my past surgery then, my upcoming surgery now).

It's used to help combat vets and traumatized first responders. I paid a pro to teach me then and it worked. I dug up enough info to re-teach myself and it's been working again, beautifully.

I still feel a *little* bit like this now and again

But I sure look better :-)

@Kuraudo: mild but companionable envy :-), with cats on top :-) :-).

@Darmok: Oops, didn't mean to be coy about it. You really do need to be with a pro initially.

This stuff gets at your hard-wiring. Some people first experience strong emotion that has to come out safely. Not always predictable, so you need someone right there. You need a spotter. REALLY. What's good, though, is that if everything works OK, you can learn it and DIY.

The only reason I went the DIY route this time is that I believed the perceived existential threat now was almost exactly the same as the actual existential threat 2 decades ago. And I'd started clinging to people which is not. good. at. all. for. anyone. Also, holidays. Try to find someone to help with stuff like this on zero notice at this time of year! (Oh, we can see you in mid-February.)

Here is a link: NLP-EMDR abstract dated, but good references.

Thinking about it, I wasn't diagnosed Aspie then. I wonder if this isn't a form of directed stimming? Whatever, it worked for me then, is working again. Thank goodness.

I had been struggling with class sizes at my yoga studio, but this morning a huge group showed up, and they loved it! :D
