Esmeralda,

Good news about your cat! I love orange striped kitties and all tabby kitties!

@B19, @IstominFan

I was very lucky - I had two orange girls. One from 1983 - 2000, one from 2000 - 2015. Did you know orange tabby girls are only 15% of all orange tabbies? I've heard that only 15% of Aspies are women as well.

They were as sweet as anything, my marmalade girls.

I remember reading somewhere in a book written by a cat specialist some years ago that only 2% are female, and he gave an explanation of why (though I can't recall the intricate details), so your lovely orange girls might have been as rare as we aspies are!

To frost the cake, my second orange girl was also a Japanese Bobtail. She was absolutely adorable... had a tiny little tailbud, and ran like a bunny.

There's a lot of discussion in the cat world about orange cats having very distinctive personalities, and being very loving. Both of mine were :))) I have also read somewhere - I don't know how factual it is - that the original ancient forebears of all domestic cats were orange. Whatever the truth of that, or not, they are special to me. I have had many wonderful cats throughout my life, and none could match the orange boys for intuition and affection.

My older kitty has been very frisky lately - I feared thyroid disease since several of my other cats have developed it in old age. Got a full panel run (ouch $$$$$$) and everything is beautifully normal. Whew! She's asleep and snoring next to me (cat snores are so cute).

I could just about turn somersaults from the sheer relief of knowing she's not just OK, she's really doing well!

good to hear. I woke up this morning to kitty snores too.

Slept fine (Monday night took a long time to sleep)

Not sick (this week it was cold temperatures. Been pretty much exhausted since Tuesday. Paranoid about getting sick)

Bus came quickly

Esmeralda,

Orange striped girls are indeed very rare, as all of the orange tabbies, except for one, that I have known were boys. Those girls are rare and special ones. That's interesting about the comparison of female cats to females with Asperger's. I think we have very catlike personalities. There is a children's book, "All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome" which is really cute and so true.

Reading an interview in the NZ Listener with "The Autistic Gardener". This guy rocks! Wish for once that I had Sky so that I could watch his tv series. Has anyone watched it?

Second bout of happiness was the delivery of a hanging "egg" chair for the deck which I can sit in and rock back and forth in. It's immensely soothing, well made and worth the considerable price.

As I was rocking away had a visit on the deck from a beautiful native wood pigeon. A day of three happinesses :)))

I'd love to see "The Autistic Gardener" but I live in the USA. Wonder if it will ever show up on You Tube? And, I love egg chairs. We used to have two hanging on the front porch. I have converted now to hammocks.

For today, I spent the day packing for a river trip; tomorrow I will be alone on the river. Heaven.

Watching DisbeArex cry tears of joy after chat went nuts showering her with donations. I wish I could give her a huge bear hug!

I had a thought that I finally had enough points to get $50 back on my PayPal Mastercard. I checked last statement & I didn't have enough & thought I probably should this month. When I checked earlier I had enough to get $100 back. I remember they were giving me some deals last statement where I could earn bonus points but I didn't think I would of earned that many. I paid the $100 today & I'll pay more in like a week after I get my SSDI payment.
