God has nothing to do with the world's ills. At 1 John 5:19 we read "the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one." The reference on "wicked one" returns the following scriptures:

(Matthew 13:19) Where anyone hears the word of the kingdom but does not get the sense of it, the wicked one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart; this is the one sown alongside the road.
(Luke 4:6) and the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it.
(John 12:31) Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
(Hebrews 2:14) Therefore, since the “young children” are sharers of blood and flesh, he also similarly partook of the same things, that through his death he might bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is, the Devil;

Therefore the wicked one referred to at 1 John 5:19 is none other than Satan himself.

Furthermore the bible calls Satan "the god of this system of things" (2 Corinthians 4:4). People like Hitler, Saddam, Osama and the like exist because they lie in the power of the wicked one; the God of this system of things. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Paul writes through divine inspiration, "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power;" In Matthew 24:3 "while [Jesus] was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” in 7-8 Jesus replies “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress." Why? Revelation 12:12 says "Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time." Satan is essentially in a jail cell awaiting trial; the jail cell is earth, and he's venting his anger all over us. Why here? Why Earth? Because this is the scene of the crime. It is here he originally destroyed humanity's chance at a perfect life when he told Eve the first lie in Genesis 3:4-5 "At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day of YOUR eating from it YOUR eyes are bound to be opened and YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad.” Well Satan got what he wanted. He wanted to be a God. But it is here that things will be settled between Satan and Jehovah God for all the world to see, and Jehovah's angelic family and Satan's demons. The question will be "Does Jehovah have the right to his Universal Sovereignty?" The answer of course is yes because he created all things!

Nation will rise against nation. Food shortages, earthquakes, school shootings, nuclear weapons, Hitler, World War 1 and 2, global terrorism, and so on and so forth. All of this has occurred since 1914. The world is becoming more and more dangerous. Would you not say that critical times hard to deal with are here? If you say Yes, then I say it is because "the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one." But not for long!

A new system is coming.

(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
(Isaiah 25:8) He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for Jehovah himself has spoken [it].
(1 Corinthians 15:26) As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.
(Isaiah 35:10) And the very ones redeemed by Jehovah will return and certainly come to Zion with a joyful cry; and rejoicing to time indefinite will be upon their head. To exultation and rejoicing they will attain, and grief and sighing must flee away.
(Isaiah 65:19) And I will be joyful in Jerusalem and exult in my people; and no more will there be heard in her the sound of weeping or the sound of a plaintive cry.”
(Revelation 3:7) But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.

John writes in 8:32 "YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free." and in 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

If you want to prepare yourself for the new system you will need to do personal study. Passionately pray to God for guidance and help and he will open a way for you.

I don't get why it works that way either. The painful excuse I hear from alot of Christians is, "God is like a parent. He puts us through these things as a test, or to teach us a lesson."

If Christianity is a tool to control the masses, it's a very crappy one. Look at China... look at India... they managed to out-control and out-populate us without Christianity. China has a single political party and most of the Chinese are nor Christian.

I've heard every pro and con argument out there. It comes down to this: Do you think you are smarter than God or not? Do you think you are more righteous than God or not? What makes you think that life on earth is any better than life after death? If you believe you're smarter than whoever/whatever created this universe than there's no point in discussing this. If you believe God is smarter and more righteous than you personally, you'll accept that he has a better place for us... that this life on earth is just a small tiny part of a very large life he has for us.

teething hurts... birthing hurts... those are very painful things in life. We don't curse god for those things because we see the results. If you don't understand why god does things (nobody does, people only claim to know) then how can you possibly judge it?

Don't get me wrong... i'm an aspie and I curse god every day for this miserable nonsense of a half-life he gave me.. I hope one day he proves me wrong.

The reason is that God is an as*hole.

I am fine with people who believe in God. What I do have a problem with is people who seem to think "He" is Good. The God that is mentioned in the Bible has a lot of bad qualities. And one of these is rewarding the sinful and punishing the innocent.

It's all a bunch of bullshit.

I've come to the conclusion that IF god is all powerful, then he could stop these things happening.

And if that's true, then he is not worth following. He has inflicted pain on us all, for no good reasons given.

But of course, there's the possibility he isn't exactly all powerful. Just more powerful than anything else.

This would mean he wouldn't be entirely responsible. I could forgive him then, but when people try to preach a god with limitless power that still decides to make some people near perfect and make some people sub human, I get angry.

The logical problem of evil has been dead for decades.

a) I totally want to be that guy but this is racist.
b) India has theism too.
c) What makes you so sure the control in the US is not as strong as that in China and India? Maybe having two parties instead of just one is not that big of a difference if the two parties have a 99% tendency to do exactly the same. Sure, republicans tend to be far more anti-poor than democrats, but the two parties tend to get away with the same pro-corporation, pro-war stuff.

d) Just because the guys at China are controlling other people better than the guys at US, it doesn't debunk the statement that Christianity is a tool to control people.

Before we argue whether this life is better than something else, first prove that something else exists. There is no point otherwise. Hey, this hamburger tastes great, but I bet a Unicorn sandwich would be far more delicious.

I have no problem understanding why god does things. I have a problem believing it exists. And the reason the world has plenty of social issues that don't make any sense are a reason to doubt it.


I don't need to judge it, all I am doing is questioning its whole existence.



The whole "god works in mysterious ways" argument reeks in privilege. Privileged people can bet that whatever hardship they are going through right now will somehow work out in the end. The unprivileged really cannot.

Sorry, nonsense. I hear that line from people who live in far worse conditions than you and I ever will ever know. Really accepting that statement means that there is power beyond the government oppressing them, so it is both an act of defiance and one that is far more Kafkaesque‎ than you and I will ever really appreciate. Belief in a higher power, at least in the more oppressive places I have been, was linked quite heavily with blaming other people for the things that happen, blaming God is the real privilege of the rich because the forces that hold us back from out desires are structural and self-inflicted, whereas the ones that hold back slaves have personages that can be seen for the nasty things they do. We in the free world are so free we are left to combat our biology and our own desire to get things we are not even sure we want. Whereas the oppressed, know their hardship is manmade and often very localised. We in the wealthy world know much of our pain is self-inflicted and so we revolt from god because we fear being truly seen for what we are. Even if you disagree with my conclusion, which I know is quite oriented towards my own personal feelings, the position put forward above is condescending both towards the receiver and towards the underprivileged.

If evil exists, then this is not the perfect world. And therefore God could've done better.

He doesnt exist, life just sucks and if he does exist hes a jerk!
