Online Training
I have to complete A LOT of online training for a class for (Wordpress, Photoshop, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, etc.) throughout the semester and it's sooooo boring. Listening to that boring voice for 2.5 hours straight for an assignment makes me want to sleep. However, my Wordpress blog on RPG games looks very pretty now. I personally learn how to use technology better by fiddling with it myself rather than reading a manual or following a video guide. >.>
So what do you like/loathe about online training?
Sounds like a stupid idea. I just set something up, mess around with it, break it a few times, fix it again, and teach myself how it works like that. Or I just try and use it and Google if I have any problems.
I cannot stand listening and watching someone telling me how to do something, I don't see why anyone would waste their time with that rubbish, at least not by choice.

The thing is, I had to subscribe to an Online training site Lynda.com for the class. The professor can SEE if I have watched it or not and will grade me on whether or not I completed the training. D:
If I had the choice, I wouldn't be doing it. I usually figure it out on my own. :/
Lol, that's what I have been doing. I'll actually watch the video if it's something that I think I'll use but most of it is super-obvious. I KNOW how to center or justify my text. That's 3rd grade stuff. D:
I can relate to that 100%. I have sat through whole IT lessons, at GCSE level, where they were teaching me how to use PowerPoint. Back before the school censored the whole internet, I spent that time learning something more interesting online, then when it came to doing the actual project which required the PowerPoint skills, I finished it in under an hour no problem.
I know right? PowerPoint is NOT hard. I'd be done before everyone else and working on assignments for other classes.
Your school censored the entire internet? Wow. I don't think my University is that bad. In fact, I don't know if our University censors anything online. They just don't want us bringing our own routers so we're all crowded on the same connection. >.>
Exactly. I write programs for fun, MS Office dosen't exactly present a challenge
They did indeed censor the entire internet. Though, now I'm in sixth form, I can get into whatever I want unless it's blocked at ISP level (which a fair few things are, since it's a special educational one).

I'm a writing major, MS Office is my b***h.
