Question for those IN a relationship.
When you finally got into one did you understand your friends relationships? My friends BF said his Speech class was canceled so he didn't go, his girlfriend (MY friend) called him a Dork (on Facebook) to him he said you are just jealous you had to do classes. I don't get this calling your BF a dork behavior. IMO it seems childish and stupid. I hope I never call my BF a dork. For something so stupid is just stupid!! !! Plus not to mention the my woman comment. (Which I've talked about in a past post) I don't get these in jokes/pet name stuff. What are your thoughts? Do you use cutey names or call your BF a dork? ![]()
Yeah, i do - my boyf and i have quite a lot of banter.
although we don't do the cutesy name thing - mostly because i can't help but laugh if he calls me something like 'hon' or whatever.
i think it's when you get to a point with someone where gently mocking them becomes endearing instead of insulting.
and they know you're joking and it's not a problem.
Yes, I have always done that. I call my husband all sorts of teasing names and he calls me all sorts of teasing names. I call him a goofball. He calls me a dork. I call him a heffalump. He calls me a gooneybird. Etc. Etc. Etc. It's all in good fun...for us and for couples that like to do this. Since you very much dislike it you will need to be with a man who also dislikes it.
yep, husband calls me chubbybutt and other stuff, and i call him crummyguy and other stuff. he also mocks the funny way i hold my hands, and i mock him when his dyslexia acts up... but none of it is in a mean way, and if one of us pushes it too far, the other partner asks for quarter.
