It sounds like you have some autistic traits, but you are probably just an introverted and artistic person. I'm not sure whether I have AS or not either, but I am 90% sure I do.

Do you have routines you must keep to? Do you feel anxiety if you can't follow these routines? Do you eat the same things all the time, buy the same particular products, go the same routes etc? Do you have special interests? Do you have issues with empathy?

Okay. I'm pretty sure I don't have aspergers. *** To the people who said that if I had a disorder, I would have researched it endlessly and not immediately asked a question on here, well, I do research disorders endlessly. I'm just trying to figure out why I can be so emotionally detached and why I suck so much at algebra but do well in literature and art.

I guess that is a relief to a degree. I still don't get why my artistic skills are so much stronger than my math skills. Also, thinking in visuals is also something I'm curious to know more about. If someone can explain why I have these traits that would also be awesome!

You're more right brained? I think in pictures too. This can also affect your language skills. I speak in jumbled sentences. My meds help. I also have ADHD.
There's many disorders/ syndromes that you could have that describes what you wrote.
I'd seek help for anxiety first before you look into a more neurological condition.

Also, AS symptoms vary from individual to individual. So wondering why you're emotionally detached, suck at algebra, but better in the arts cannot be pinned down to a single disorder. I don't have good math memory but I can do it in my own way and I love learning math/physics/ history. I can draw, photograph and create my own pieces of art. I can be both disorganised and organised. my natural brain is quite slow and foggy. I can also be very logical and at times an emotional wreck. It was very hard to find out just what I have. But my autism sticks out like a sore thumb.

Really you could have dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, Bipolar, ASD - or just having a few of these traits so you don't feel like every other NT but not enough to be diagnosed with any syndrome, because you get diagnosed when you need treatment for it.

However, I think you are interesting and would rather talk about visual things with you then my favourite TV show with an NT.

Why do those things have to be related to a disorder? :? Isn't that pretty much normal human variation?

I have asperger's and I have never been "shy", just awkward. I want to socially interact with people but when I do it comes across poorly (I guess to others). I do things such as interrupt, monopolize conversations, phrase things uniquely, etc. I can be socially withdrawn in situations where I don't feel comfortable but I think alot of people have that, and it sounds like you have more of a social anxiety than an autism related disorder.

I was always considered shy when I was younger, but I'd describe it as unresponsive to things I wasn't all that into. I thought I was close to being autistic all my life, having only been exposed to more extreme cases. Once I found out about Asperger's it seemed obvious, though I identify with plain old autism more because I lack a few key Asperger's traits.
Some of the things you mentioned seem to fit the criteria cosmetically, but not the substance.
Most people on the spectrum I've known or read about are not shy, it just ends up looking that way. It's not about wanting interaction, it just doesn't work out all that well. If we don't want interaction, it stresses us to have it forced onto us, if we want it, it's only stressful not understanding how to do it or why it goes so bad.

I no longer know what I was trying to say so I'm putting an end to it...
