Positive things about having a disability

and i could prove myself harder to live life

I have incredible memory, and I can solve a puzzle faster than anyone else in my family.

I think the topic creator meant disabilities in general, not necessarily Asperger's or Autism.

That said... the points mentioned such as an open mind, and knowing that if you catch up to the same level as everyone else it really means that you are stronger than them at overcoming personal challenges, are good points.

But aside from that, I'm drawing a blank. Especially with a more invisible disability in my case, I don't really get any compensation or benefits, just the drawbacks.

The instinctive strengthening of other areas to compensate. I always loved that about humans.

Yes, agreed. I have Multiple Sclerosis and since being diagnosed, have slowed down my pace a little bit. I've actually gotten a bit more joy out of life.

My creativity, and sense of social justice.
True, many without Asperger's can incorporate these traits, but Asperger's can be positive for such reasons stated above.

Not having to walk about a mile and a half to get to the NASCAR race, being able to park under bright lights at night, getting a really good counselor and priority registration in college, and being able to understand young ASD kids better. I receive other accommodations but I would have preferred to get those needs met the same way everyone else does.

I harbor no grudges against anyone. I do not gossip. I can create whole worlds out of my imagination. I'm content to be on my own. I don't like lying. I can be childlike and hyper at times. I've overcome many challenges to become who I am.

Welfare, I kid.
