Honestly, I think they are claiming they like #4 because they don't have the qaulities to attract a jacked and/or good looking guy. Plus, it's socially un-acceptable to claim that looks/money matters. The reality is that they do in ADDITION to personaility.

That's what all women say when muscles/money doesn't matter.

Nah. My last boyfriend (before my husband) was good looking, into bodybuilding and completely loaded.

And selfish and controlling and uncaring. We were together for 4 years before I decided enough was enough.

My husband is very much #4, but don't take my word for it. He lurks around this forum too. Goes by the name Woodpecker. Ask him yourself if you don't believe me.

My husband met me (his first and only girlfriend) at dance classes. He joined an adults evening class to learn latin american and ballroom dancing. 6 months later I joined the same class. The thing is, at dance classes there are normally more females than males so it's a good place to increase your chances of meeting someone you get one with.

As a reply to emilion in the other thread:

Nope, I don't care whether I am rejected here or not. I am totally indifferent.

None of those 3 guys have things that I particularly want, but if I had to choose one of them I would go for guy 3 simply because he would have to be highly intelligent and quite an exceptional person to get to where he was in life - which are attractive qualities. The other guys could also be intelligent, interesting, kind, etc for all I know, but there's no reliable indicators of any of these factors greater than chance. Thus at least I know for sure guy 3 would be intellectually interesting. Still, it's not much of a choice really.

i pick guy 4!! !!

shhhhh this is a secret, so don't tell anyone.... but i was basing guy #4 on my husband's old self. except he collected and cleaned animal skulls instead of bugs. he didn't teach at a university, but he was scholarly and did part of a master's degree in philosophy. he was social phobic.

now he's an outgoing, snappy-dressing, clean-shaven salesman. but he still collects books... and forgets to eat. i didn't mention that he is insanely funny too, because it didn't fit with the character - he's not really playful though.

guys like that really do exist, *sigh*
The description of guy 4 is almost exactly the same as my ex, and we were together for 14 years. It all fits to a tee, except he didn't forget to eat and had no facial hair (he actually worked as an adjunct as a small college). He doesn't mount displays of dead insects but he makes odd sculptures and collects weird thrift store art, and he does collect books. Perfect man! :)

As for the three described by the OP, they all seem like they would be very superficial and arrogant, so no on all of them.

I'm being serious. Who cares if you can't stand him?

At least you never have to worry about a meal or some thug beating you up. Can your CURRENT husband protect/provide for you? Sure he might win you over with personality....

As long as the man isn't physically or verbally abusing her. I think the one with muscles/money would win?

No. I'd pick a personality over money or muscles any day. Simple as.
