I just wanted to let everybody know that I have 719 movie titles in my collection.

669 of these are in DVD format, while 50 are in VHS format.

That's impressive Tim_Tex!

Do you burn them or buy them?

My brother in law who lives in Europe burns them and he has an immense collection.

It's pretty neat 8)

You actually counted all of the movies in your collection? Weird. That has to include some porno's or something; there's no way you have found 719 solid movies.

Not good ones. That would require an absolutely insane amount of time, money, effort, and leniancy as far as what you consider a good film. You could probably get about 500 solid american films if you stretched all genres, which is not likely to happen. Then throw in 219 foreign films. It sounds really questionable how all of those films could be solid.

Ah-ha. I didn't realise you meant decent films. People with that many films can and do collect just about any old shite and never ever watch it.

I have virtually every genre of movie, from the following countries:

U.S., Canada, Mexico, France, Spain, U.K., Japan, South Korea, Germany, Australia, and Argentina.

All of the MPAA ratings are represented (G, PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17).

No, I don't have any porn in my collection, but I do have Last Tango in Paris, with Marlon Brando. It came out in the early 1970s, and was very controversial at the time. Georgia and Oklahoma banned the movie, and Italy had a public burning of copies of the film.

Most of the movies I have are rated PG-13 or R, and are comedy movies.

How can you categorize "decent" movies when every person has their own taste.

Another person may think that your preference may be boring or indecent.

If Tim_Tex has that vast of a movie collection, I myself, would find him a VERY intersting person.

I love Horror, Sci-Fi, Drama, Comedy, Romance, Family (Harry Potter), and movies based off video games (ie: Resident Evil). Including independant films (which BTW, have more content and informational value than the thrills and frills of popular films.

I like independent films, too. I am thinking about joining a indie/foreign film club here in Houston.
