role models are scarce these days.
Michael J Fox
Jackie Robinson
Billy Corgan
Arthur Suydam
Leonard Cohen
Yvan Cournoyer
Steve Irwin
[...]
I just admire someone for something specific or a large body of work and I consider them role models for their perseverance and accomplishments. They aren't necessarilly good people so to speak, but people I admire nonetheless. Identifying ONE single individual as a role model is bothersom for me seeing as it would be ill conceived to want to emulate the life and experiences of just one person.

Mick Avory is my role model.

I'd talk to him about his memories of playing with The Kinks.

I really look up to Kathy Griffin. I would like to ask if it is really worth it to piss off so many people in Hollywood with your act?

No and I've never had one - the idea is completely alien to me.

A girl at my school who's in grade twelve.
I admire her work ethic, her natural beauty, her awesome pure Russian background and the fact that she doesn't have a lot of friends but looks happy.

Hunter S. Thompson. 8)

....and Earl Nightingale. His ideas are completely mind blowing. A wet dream for any aspie. I would suggest looking him up on youtube, there are some interesting videos of him on there.

Good answer and great avatar. :D

My role model is Tim Burton. I'd like to ask him if the characters he creates (or creates his own versions of) are his imaginary friends, how much time he spends in his imaginary world and, most of all, if he and Helena Bonham Carter are happy together.

You're welcome! I love A Clockwork Orange and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. 8) Looking forward to the film adaptation of The Rum Diary as well. It was supposed to be released this year, but somehow got pushed back to next year... :(

I don't really have any role-models; I try to be myself instead of copying/imitating/molding my life on someone elses but Miranda Cosgrove would defiantly be my pick for role-model. Shes one of the few idols out there who seems to have a really good head on her shoulders. She seems responsible, smart, mature, down to earth, relatable, not to mention sweet & funny. She doesn't have the baggage, drama or issues that most celebs have. Plus she's planning on going to college which is something almost no actress or singer with half of Miranda's success would do. She's also been involved with some good causes like trying to get schools to provide healthier lunches & trying to encourage kids to read more. She didn't whore herself to the media about it like most celebs do when they promote causes. It seems almost impossible that someone with that much success from such a young age would be that well grounded. If by some miracle I had the chance; I would tell her how much I admire her & how I hope she stays that way. I would rather her get out of Hollywood & music than have the industry corrupt her like it does for most everyone else. If I could ask her anything; I would ask her out. I can not imagine a more perfect woman  :drunken: but she could have most any guy she wants & whoever it is would be extremely lucky

As a child I had either historical role models or fictional characters.

As a child it was:
Davy Crockett
Robin Hood
Zorro

Now as an adult my role models are mainly fictional. Well, all two of them, both of which are fictional:

Dr. Who
Sherlock Holmes

I realized that the two role models I have are both sort of outlandish, lonely, brilliant and full of such knowledge. It helps to make me feel less lonely associating with these characters, even though they are fictional. They are probably the two I would love to be more like. Although both tend to have devoted companions that aid them in aspects of their personalities that may be a hinderence.

As to what to ask them. I would ask Dr. Who if I could join him on his adventures, and I would ask Sherlock Holmes if I could become his apprentice.
