Absolutely right. He should have identified himself as a person of indeterminate gender.

I hope you mean "person" in the philosophical sense, and not in the sense of "human-being". After all, that would have been intolerably species-ist.

It hadn't occurred to me but you are also correct. He should have identified himself as a cell colony of indeterminate gender. This may piss off a few touchy viruses but when they complain on this site I will come up with something.

I completely agree with you, Sand. We need to promote solidarity.

However, what about AI? I mean, an AI would not likely be comprised of cells, so should we discriminate like this against them?

As far as I know no AI has attained legal personhood. So that is not currently a worry. But the Supreme Court is edging pretty close to declaring corporations as persons. I have no idea how the gender of a corporation can be discovered since they seem (as far as I know) to have no sexual organs.

WE [the voluntary association of free cells here communicating as Philologos] feel you [whatever you may be] can rule out AI. In the lump of testosterone known as MasterPedant we have noted very little artificiality, though an acceptable level of intelligence.

Agnostic.

Not sure if I'm pro, or antipasto.

Well, I [the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent spirit known as Awesomelyglorious] still think that we [the entities all present in this communicative session] have problems as there are non-cellular intelligences that have to be accounted for.

Pah.

If those - you will excuse me for using a racially charge term, but I prefer to be blunt, - compounds want recognition they will need to get better organized. WE have cell walls precisely to keep out the riffraff.

Of course, certain immaterial entities may be exempted from this policy, if they can demonstrate that they have propagated without dignal decay at least 10 billion cosmos [1 cosmo = 1.36588... rotation of this galaxy]

Well, I [whatever was previously stated] am not a compound at all. I [repeat] am simple: simply awesome.

I also have asthma, myopia, and a vitamin D-deficiency.

What about phobias? (claustrophobia, agoraphobia, hydrophobia, etc)

I'd say I have a mild case of cynophobia (at least new or "strange" dogs) and I might have a mild (and only occasionally relevant) case of hypochondria.

But no hydrophobia? Maybe we can just expose you to a strange raccoon. Raccoons aren't dogs.
