I voted No on this poll because the kids rename themselves by the time they become teens. They go by really stupid nicknames

When I was a nursing student, teen mother named her son Lucifer. All the nurses tried to talk her into changing it. They even delayed completing the final paperwork on the baby, hoping the mom would come to her senses. She kept the name. She claimed she liked it because she read about Lucifer in bible study.

Someone named their child Mao. I would hate to be him When he gets to high school; that's when he would learn that Mao Zedong was one of the biggest genocidal monsters of the 20th century.

Another name I have a problem with:

Claudette. It sounds like it's an old southern name.

I would pick from a list of names to name my kids:

Andrew...Arlene...Alberto...Alicia...Arthur...Ana
Bonnie...Bret...Beryl...Barry...Bertha...Bob
Charley...Cindy...Chris...Chantal...Cesar...Claudette
Danielle...Dennis...Debby...Dean...Diana...David
Earl...Emily...Ernesto...Erin...Edouard...Elena
Frances...Floyd...Florence...Felix...Fran....Frederick
Georges...Gert...Gilbert...Gabrielle...Gustav...Gloria
Hermine...Harvey...Helene...Hugo...Hortense...Henri
Ivan...Irene...Isaac...Iris...Isidore...Isabel
Jeanne...Jose...Joan...Jerry...Josephine...Juan
Karl...Katrina...Keith...Karen...Klaus...Kate
Lisa...Lenny...Leslie...Luis...Lili...Larry
Mitch...Maria...Michael...Marilyn...Marco...Mindy
Nicole...Nate...Nadine...Noel...Nana...Nicholas
Otto...Ophelia...Oscar...Opal...Omar...Odette
Paula...Phillipe...Patty...Pablo...Paloma...Peter
Richard...Rita...Ruth...Rochelle...Rene...Rose
Shary...Stan...Sandy...Sebastien...Sally...Samuel
Tomas...Tammy...Tony...Tanya...Teddy...Teresa
Virginie...Vince...Valerie...Van...Vicky...Victor
Walter...Wilma...William...Wendy...Wilfred...Wanda

I once met a girl on my gymnastics team and her name was Barbie. I hope that was short for Barbara and the little girl decided to be called Barbie.

I might be wrong but I think that Leyland is pronounced 'Lee-land'.

When I was born, there was a list of approved names for the parents to choose from. But then I know a man my age who was named Tractor. Apparently, they had that on the list.

No. I heard it at the bus stop: 'I swear down on our Leyland's life, I'm 'aint lying!' It was pronounced as in the British car manufacturer.

The poor white people where I live are always swearing on each other's lives. Given how honest humans generally are, you'd think half of them would be dead by now.

Plus, it's free advertising for Steve Jobs.

Though being called Microsoft would be far worse.

Hmm I like that name. I like many oldish sounding names.
Some names that I don't like are Tina, John (if it's spelled Jon I'm fine with it, but "John" makes me, umm, dunno how to say it, think of the taste of fish?), Harry, Kate, Lisa, Steve...hard to come up with names out of the blue.

My mom teaches pre-K at in an a poorer area(I don't want to sound too offensive here) & some of her students have really crazy names that are spelled very different than how they sound like Nyagry; it sounds like Viagra but with an N instead of a V. 13year-olds don't know how to pick names

My dad thought that John would have been a good name for my sister.
