I always think of the double meaning of his name whenever I see it, so I had to say it at least once somewhere.

Damn right.
When this utter stupidity happens it's the nearest I come to physically lashing out, and one day I probably will.
It makes me jump, it's rude, intrusive and extremely disruptive and they really should have learned by now to not do it.

I should keep a journal of all the ways my expressions are misinterpreted. I remember looking at my therapist's desk and processing what was on the desk and not really thinking about anything as such, and she asked me if I was confused - I wasn't. I didn't particularly have a mood at all.

Over the weekend I was staying with friends. One of them constantly misread my facial expression and body language as being annoyed at her and I have no idea what I was doing to suggest this.

This could explain why my friends avoiding me?

I had a big row with my sister over something like this and we both ended up in tears.
She read my not saying much and my face as being depressed, and said she was treading on eggshells because of my "mood".
Huh? What mood? I was actually pretty happy and had been for days.
I asked why she would think such a thing without even asking me about it, and that may have given her a tiny insight into my world because she was completely stumped for an answer.

Sometimes I've thought of wearing a badge saying "Face disconnected - please do not read".

I usually have an intense expression on my face, especially when I am concentrating. It is pretty much the opposite of my avatar.

At least my friend listened to me when I said that I wasn't feeling that at all.

I am always being asked why I'm upset and/or sad. Also, people are continually telling me to smile and have fun.

I also have people wave their hands in front of my face to get my attention when I am absorbed in my own thoughts. And when I realize it and look at them, they tend to laugh (especially if they are with someone). I think it's rude and not at all appropriate. I am sure if I waved my hand in their face they'd get upset with me (although I've never tested this hypothesis).

i often get told by my other half that i am mean or i'm a bi**h because i look angry all the time. usually i'm not angry but i have a tendancy to think of things that upset me and replay things in my mind over and over again. it doesn't really put me in a bad mood but i guess i look mad. then i get questioned or insulted and i do get mad. there are some thoughts i'd just like to be left alone with and i can't really explain them to him because i know he won't understand why i'm thinking about that stuff still.

There was this girl at day camp one year and we went to the wading pool one day, but it was freezing some of kids (including me) decided to get out, we all went the picnic table to do crafts and she was sitting across from me and I thought that she had an "angry face", but it was just her "normal face" and I thought she was mad at me but she wasn't. I'm pretty sure she was NT, in fact ALL the kids at that camp seemed extremely NT to me. I guess it might be more common in people with AS, but NTs can also do it.

I sometimes get accused of looking sad when I'm tired.

Many times throughout the day I feel physical discomfort. It never hit me that this might show on my face. I usually have over exaggerated face expressions so all this discomfort I feel on different levels could show up on my face as a look of irritation.

I frown when I think hard, and I think hard a lot.

I call it my thinking face.

A lot of people see it as a blank scowl. Or sometimes just the psycho killer lool.

lol.

But most times I'm thinking.

I can get "you look crabby" or "you should smile more," and sometimes this with a pinch on the cheek. But people don't realize the laughter that lurks underneath.


Recently having breakfast alone, the hostess and waitress were looking at me strange.They kept looking into my eyes to see where they are trained, as I'm siitting there. I know it's that deep introverted eyes turned within look that I can have-- my wife calls it "that blank look."
