Is yours in your lower abdomen or groin area ?
I have a hiatus hernia which I guess is different from your one.

Several relatives have had abdominal hernias repaired quite successfully as day case patients. The recovery period is the hardest if you are normally a very active person, as you have to be careful until the area has fully healed.

In my groin area. I sortof have an inclination of what it may be or may deal with though .. I've just been dreading it. I'll request a ultra sound since last time he wanted a CT-Scan, that's like going full out .. no need to jeopardize my future with a CTscan.

Best have it checked out soon as I once transported an elderly man to hospital who had his hernia for 20 years and I kid you not it reached his knees................ouch. 8O

It really is nothing to worry about and having a CT scan is probably just crossing off other possible causes.

my boyfriend has one.... it's gotten huge. but they won't operate unless it's an emergency, or he loses weight. If you can get it taken care of please do. His intestine literally hangs right above his you-know-what through his hernia, into his pubic region. Lots of issues can arise, so fix it if you have the chance.

a strangulated loop of intestine is one possible comorbid to an inguinal hernia [just one of many varieties] and is on the slippery slope to necrosis and major surgery- get it taken care of ASAP lest it turn into something worse.
