How about your hair is very um.. hairy

A girl I met kept blowing her hair out from in front of her face cutely - not to mention in a style I love.

I said "Your hair keeps getting in your face.", just to make conversation, to which she replied "it looks this way because I never do anything with it", then she looked sad.

I no longer mention hair.

I think only compliment when you really mean it. I feel like I get too many compliments, and it's hard to tell which ones are the real ones and which ones are the fake ones, which means the real ones lose their value.

Also, when/if you compliment, don't overdo it, just be real, your compliments sound fine - eg. telling someone they're a reincarnated angel is overdoing it.
