Song's you obsessed over: songs that were always in your head for an unusual period, one that you kept thinking about, trying to figure out it's meaning and secrets.

go!

"Videotape" by Radiohead was literally my special interest for about 2 weeks, remaining the only song ever to become more important to me then Travis for a brief period, I had it on a loop on my ipod, it's like it has no start, and the beginning is middway through it

I've Got That Feeling by The Kinks. It reminds me of the summer of 1985, the year after I watched the Olympics for the first time. That song was my highlight of that otherwise dull summer.

I obsessed over "Magic Summer Night" by DJ Klubbingman one year, then "She'd Rather Be With The DJ" by Hardknox the following year, and "Ligger Med Varandra" by DJ Auzern after that. They lacked deep and meaningful lyrics, but I loved the melodies and beats. "Magic Summer Night" reminds me of the summer of '07 when I was obsessed with Hellsing and Trinity Blood. "Ligger Med Varandra" reminds me of the spring of '10 when I went to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland for the first time in theaters.

I think I've only listened to this song a few times before, but no matter what, I can never get it out of my head. It just goes through my head randomly throughout the day.

Same for this one, no matter how hard I try I can't forget about it. It's so catchy.

Currently

But it's pretty much a condition for me adding a song to my collection.

I don't obsess over individual songs anymore, but I used to. Nowadays I tend to listen to full albums in a single listening session. The only ones that come to mind that I've obsessed over in the past, as in played repeatedly ad nauseum, are Portishead's Roads and Moby's Porcelain.

This one, for about 2 years, hence the avatar.
A few others too, Memento Mori by Kamelot as well as Serenade of Flames by Serenity.

The lyrics and emotion are just so amazing (if rather cynical). Whenever I'm angry or depressed, this is the song I listen to.

I also love Defying Gravity, although I prefer the semi-illegal, poor quality recordings of live performances to Idina Menzel's OBC Recording. Stephanie J Block and Kerry Ellis are both particularly good.
