About 4 years ago (I'm in my mid-50s), and I'm being re-evaluated.

Question: Why have 12 people selected "I'm not officially diagnosed and don't want to be"?

Started the diagnostic process when I was 23, and finally got officially diagnosed in June (25). Still waiting to get my final report, which should be at the beginning of November.

I'm not sure about Asperger's (I want to check into it) but I have issues with anxiety and depression.

I was diagnosed with high functioning autism when I was four. Right now I'm questioning my diagnosis.

Officially / professionally diagnosed with Asperger's, late 40s (now of course, according to the DSM-V, it's Autism----whatever...). I also have Anxiety. I've had absolutely debilitating anxiety, panic, agoraphobia----never depression (thank the dear Lord, above). I also have dyspraxia; and, I walk into walls, sometimes (what's that one called where you have poor balance?). I think that's all.

A bit surprised to see that so many were not officially diagnosed till they were adults, but then again ASD is JUST now gaining more and more awareness. I am 21 now but was finally diagnosed when I was 19...*sigh* boy do I feel like I missed a lot of great opportunities because I was not put into early intervention therapy. :(

There was a suspicion from early on but I first actually got diagnosed in December after being in a waiting line for three years. My reasons behind getting a diagnosis is that I have difficulties in social life (I feel uncomfortable around people physically and am prone to anxiety attacks in social settings) and because I became nearly unbearable to my parents due to a short fuse and occasional screaming as well as being very literal.

Long story as to why I went under the radar, but I was diagnosed with ADHD early in 2004 and then HFA later that same year, when I was 27.
