Hello, I am Master_Pedant, and I am running for Wrong Planet's Most Strident Atheist. Since now's the 19th, there's only approximately 24 hrs until the pre-final round polls for Most Strident Atheist elections open up. While it's still a long wait until the final vote, I think it's time to move above the vicious mudslinging that has so far defined the last two years of Strident Atheist campaigning. While others may promise vague ideals, I'm the only candidate with several concrete policies. I outlay thusly:


Within the first 100 hours of being elected Plus Alpha-Atheistic anti-theist, I will

• Create a mailing list for WP Strident Atheists.
• Create a WP Strident Atheists blog.
• Address the systemic corruption of the WP Strident Atheists Committee.

By the end of the year, I shall

• Ensure ALL committee members pull their weight, be they me or the Minus Beta-Atheistic anti-theist.
• Crush any WP Theist organization that springs up.
• Include a broad coalition of Pro-Choice Pro-Violinist Argument Feminists, Vegans, Marxists, centre-leftists, non-Calvinists, Canadians, the poor, the middle class, the socially responsible rich, single-mothers, single-fathers, pork-eaters, the Irish, ex-Catholics, ex-Mormons, Palestinian atheists and women who other candidates have failed to recognize.
• Address the underrepresentation of women in WP Strident Atheists.
• Hold special committees on various WP Strident Atheism issues over the course of the year.
• STRIDENTLY crush astrology!
• Be STRIDENTLY against religious reactionaries and theocrats who undermine our society.

Vigilans, unlike M_P, I am pro-hands. I believe hands are a good thing that people use for many important life events, as well as non-religious daily rituals involving the internet and lubrication of some form. M_P, however, is so fanatical that he wishes to ban hands altogether. He believes that because idle hands serve the devil and praying hands serve God, that we need to eliminate hands to undermine ALL supernatural beings. (Even though us wise atheists know that such beings do not exist to be empowered in the first place) For that reason, I move that my opponent be locked away as any nutjob ought to be, and that we have the free use of our hands for our daily lives.

AG's awful smears are a testament to his depravity. I believe in wanking hands, however, I have serious problems with praying ones.

And M_P uses the term "depravity" because he is Orwell, and Orwell the calvinist believes that all mankind is TOTALLY depraved. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_depravity The problem is that this idea is obviously false. I am only depraved on Friday nights. The rest of the week I stay quite clean.

In any case, M_P, I think the problem you'll find is that the same hands that wank also pray, so in order to allow one, you have to allow the other. I know that's a difficult decision to you, but I hope you make the right choice.

Wrong agian. I use "depravity" in the most secular sense imaginable. You're brain could not come up with a conception of "depravity" more naturalistic then mine, as "religion" is the crowning example of depravity in my conception of it.



The solution is simple. Hang up anti-praying posters everywhere, but also hang up a "thumbs up to wanking" poster as well, so proper values will be internalized in the former religiots.

And that conception is???

Please. all I'm supporting is a very small bit of picemeal social engineering. When the building inspector comes, he'd staple those posters into the home's living room.
