So I've found some Aspergers support groups in Maryland but they all seem to be for little kids and parents who have kids who are on the spectrum. They don't really seem to know what to do with me. It'd be neat to know some people my age -- talk, hang out, anybody like Dr. Who? Or catch a movie or board games or pretty much anything. Guess its a pretty standard thing, I don't have a lot of friends. It'd be cool to make some more.

Wow I am in SE PA and had the same exact problem trying to find any kind of adult support groups that aren't for children and parents of children with ASD's-good luck in your quest.

Thanks -- I think since Aspergers didn't get added to the DSM until 1994 all the support groups are relativly new / haven't figured out how to encompass older Aspies. What kind of radios do you fix? Really cool because I hate how everything seems to be made to be thrown away these days.

Cool -- currently I work at a help desk but my last job I installed lcd projectors, sound systems, ran soundboards and setup gear for musical theater at a school. Also did a lot of low voltage cable runs and wiring.

I forgot I maintain a microwave radio system for a major toll road as my main job.

Hi,
I live in Annapolis, MD. There is an adult social for Aspies / and others on the spectrum at Towson U. It's called the Center for Adults with Autism. It's okay if you want it to be run by a lot of student NT's who don't know much about us.

BUT it is fun to meet people and play board games and stuff.

I don't go anymore simply because it got to be too much of a hike for me. :)

I went to college in Towson. Glad you guys connected with each other.
It's a bit of a ways, but actually pretty easy on the metro - are you aware of the
Asperger Adults of Greater Washington group?
http://www.aagw.net/
I went there my senior year of college an loved it. Great bunch of people.
Meets at Teaism in the Archives section of dc. Metro stop right nearby.
You can take the train from Balt to dc an then do the metro, or if you drive, driving to a metro stop right outside the city works best.
Also there is ASAN in Baltimore,I have much less experience with them though
http://www.meetup.com/aspergers-256/
Not sure if they have regular meetups or not.
But try the dc one if you can!
It's quite big now.... I hear 30 to 40 people. 20 when I went.
