I was wondering if anyone here assigns numbers to people. Not a rating system, mind you... just a number that comes to mind when you think about or talk to that person.

I assign personalities to numbers, and base each person's number on that.

Sometimes there's a color associated with a personality, but not the number itself.

Fascinating. single digits or strings?
single digits seems rather limiting...without going above base 10.

I do single digits, but I'm sure if others do this some may go beyond 9.

I defintely do that!

1 is quiet (white)
2 is prone to mood swings (yellow)
3 is balanced and stable, very laid-back (orange)
4 is a person who is jolly, yet with a slightly sadistic sense of humor (lol! I love 4 people) (red)
5 are people who like to randomly spout facts, and live in houses with little knick-knacks and dusty old books (blue)
6 are people who are constantly nervous, but generally very nice (green)
7 people desire power for some odd reason (deep magenta)
8 people are mysterious and complex, but remind me somehow of pure chaos (purple)
9 people are playaz (you know, as in matters of the heart) (rust-brown)

Well that's how I see it anyway!
People's combination of these features cause me to give them a number that is the lowest possible integer that is divisible by all applicable one-digit numbers.

Example: Someone who is quiet, likes to spout facts and is very nervous when talking in front of others appears teal-colored to me, and has the number 30.

Wow Fern, that's far more detailed than my 9 number system. lol

I should mention not everyone has a number to me. Sometimes this is due to being too close to them, and other times it's due to not really knowing what to make of them.

I ascribe luck to numbers

Odds are bad, evens good
3's are bad for running
5's or ok, can go either way
4's and 8's are heaven-sent
2's are good
6's are evil
7's are ok
9's are retarded
10's are good mostly

I could do this for 1 through 100

lmao I do this, too. I don't like odd numbers, but that has nothing to do with the personalities or the people that are assigned to them.

Furthermore, I have a thing for doubling numbers. Specifically 4-8-16. 12 is good, too, but I prefer to double the 8 rather than adding 4 twice.

The Enneagram assigns numbers to personality types.

1's see things in black and white terms and tend to follow the rules strictly.

2's are very outgoing and social and like to encourage people.

3's are achivement oriented and see success in terms of how other's view them

4's are artistic/aesthetic and like to feel different

5's are introverted, perspective and like to get their own grasp on the outside world instead of having it dictated by others

6's are apt to question their environment and have a hard time forming trust

7's love novel experiences and tend to be full of energy

8's like to take charge of other people

9's don't like conflict and would rather see all sides content
