I've been watching old episodes of Brookside from 1983 on YouTube. It was set in Liverpool and ran from 1982-2003. I wish the picture quality was better - these are clearly taken from old VHS recordings.

Episodes from 2009. It's not hard to see why the show ended not long after this, as it had become far too politically correct and plain boring: that's my view anyway.
