Word

I indeed have very fond memories of the first time I watched it, it's underrated.

heh I caught this movie in the Cinema when it first came out. I don't think it had the strongest story but easily one of the coolest space ships I've ever seen and I loved the Gravity Drive.

When I had seen it in the theater, I had thought it was one of the scariest scifi/horror films I had ever seen. Oddly enough, that didn't seem to translate very well to video/DVD.

agreed awsome move that was way under rated!! ! I put it up there with classics like the abyss, Aliens or even just wierd ones like Donie Darko :P if you enjoyed Event Horizon you should check out Pandorum its another great horror/sci-fi. xD

It was one of the last movies I had watched with my dad in the year before he died of lung cancer, so even for any faults and failures within it Event Horizon is a favorite of mine also.

That's how I feel about Tombstone, and Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, both of which I had seen with my Dad, before he had died of renal failure.

Laurence Fishbourne being in the film sounds like it could be a good movie.

Interesting idea of having a sentient spaceship. IT was the villain.

Wasn't Hal 9000 from Space Odyssey basically a sentient spaceship?

A computer AI aboard the ship, actually. Disconnent him and he's done. Your in control of the ship. You couldn't do shut down the Event Horizon the same way.
