Is that a Surface Studio behind you? Are you a graphic designer? That's pretty cool!

cool :)

my experience in animating is just a handful of few-second long clips made in stop-motion.

i figure that's one of the more accessible and affordable ways to animate.

Yup, stop-motion is as easy as having a camera and a 'thing' and almost everybody has both. But intricate stop-motion animation with figures and such is a lot harder than hand-drawn animation to me.

^ right. i do have a clay figurine which i constructed complete with a professional ball socket armature, which set me back well over $300...but her face isn't very expressive. probably because she lacks eyes like ours. she's a bit stiff too, but the winter cold will do that to her. she'll loosen up in the summer, i think.

anyway, i do like your glasses. :)

Jealous. My other older machine here is a Wacom Lenovo & I bought a fast dell instead this time, I'm saving for the usbC Cintiq Pro.

I don't know what is a Wacom Lenovo or a fast Dell  You mean notebooks with touch screen?
When I was choosing my Cintiq I valued the size as I had wrist pains from my elder Intuos Pro. But I'd always sat on the floor when I drew before it so I had a hard time getting used to working on a desk. You can carry Cintiq Pro easily I suppose which is a plus.
