All I know is that if I forget my ipod when going away for a few days and therefore have no access to "my" music I get a little loopy. Very cranky and irritable. I went to the seaside last month, thinking I wouldn't miss music since I'll only be gone for a weekend. I was very wrong.

I know Buffy isn't music, but she helped me more than any singer/band did! Well the Buffy episode Once More With Feeling really makes me feel all giddy, happy and warm!! !! ! But I agree music always helps people feel better!

I don't think I'd even exist if it weren't for music. Both of my parents are musicians, and met in college band. And I've always sort of had music in my life since birth, and it's a huge part of my reality.

This thread is about a year old...

I'll reply anyway. Currently my main and only special interest/obsession is music - my entire life essentially revolves around music - it's my only source of income, through teaching bass and guitar lessons, performing live shows with the bands I'm in, and busking. Playing music has also always been the thing I'm best at out of anything I can do. If I were unable to hear it I don't know what I'd do, but I know hearing is the last sense I'd ever want to lose.

I don't like music much. Unless I'm driving or in a public place where music is playing, I never listen to it.

So... music is irrelevant in my assessment of life's worth.

I honestly couldn't care less if I had music or not, I'm just as happy (sometimes moreso) with silence. The only time this changes is when I'm driving, and that's just because I need something to take my mind off how stressful the activity is, but I've had the same CD on repeat (no radio) for over two years, and I skip half the songs on it..

I can't live without food and wter, but that doesn't mean I'd enjoy living without music. I listen to music pretty much whenever I'm not working or asleep, so it would definitely be difficult to live without it.
