Anyone have a hard time with cleaning habits?
I use Veet in shower depiliatory cream. Wipe it on my legs and underarms using the soft sponge and by the time the shower water is hot all the hair just comes off with a washer. I shower every day (and most days wash my hair) but I only have to get rid of the leg and underarm hair once a week. The best thing for me is that each time I use the cream, less hair grows back! Yay!! I don't have any hair growing on the back of my calves at all anymore.
When I was a child (in the 80ies) a woman to shave was very unusual thing in Germany. But when I got older suddenly this american custom swept over to germany,
I do shave armpits and the legs in summer now, even though I dont understand whats the point. Whenever I am in China since the Chinese women don't shave neither do I.
But I would never shave down there. I find it completely wrong a man would find a child-like woman attrctive and a man to think like that should better leave my bed, sorry. In other women I can accept shaving some form but not nacked. When I see a nacked shaved woman I musst look away.
I find it hard to keep a routine to taking showers and washing hair. I always do it to seldom.
I agree with you I just feel uncomfortable being hairy because I am Italian, so I am extremely hairy.
I shave my armpits and legs regularly. But I don't shave down there. And most of the girls I know do, but I don't. I am very sensitive down there and I have sensory issues even with a wrong kind of underwear. With the shaved area, it becomes unbearable. (I did it once, never again).
I think the whole idea behind shaving private area is weird. There's this belief that hairs are dirty and unhygienic, while it's actually the other way round. Hairs are those that prevent the dirt, and sweat and other bad things entering your vagina. To be shaved and waxed down there is dirtier than to have pubic hairs. Pubic hair exist for a reason. It's not dirty. If hair was dirty, we wouldn't have it around our eyes. We have eyelashes and eyebrows to protect our eyes. Same goes for pubic hair.
(Pubic hair appreciation rant end).

I am very sensitive as well. Especially down there. I can relate. I can't wear thong underwear or anything like that because it bothers me. I tried to stop shaving down there and it became so itchy so I had to shave again. It was driving me crazy. I get very itchy now but it was even worse trying to let the hair grow back.
I think you should try to grow it. It will be unbearable for 10 days, but after that, you'll feel better. (That is, unless you prefer to be shaven).
And now I have to shower but I'm too lazy to do it.
I always end up showering at 4Am before I go to bed. ANd I start deciding on showering hours before. ![]()
And now I have to shower but I'm too lazy to do it.
It is almost 8pm where I am and I haven't even showered. I woke up around 6pm. : |
Hello gals...I should probably introduce myself? I've been registered here for years but haven't been around. Recently I took a swing on the spectrum, and decided maybe it was time for some like-minded company. Usually I go by "phyre" (fire).
I use cetaphil soap because it's not "real soap". It won't dry your skin out. I also have problems with allergies to stuff in usual soaps but not this one. I use the cetaphil moisturizer too. It's one of the few I can stand. It doesn't leave me feeling super greasy and oily all day long. I can't handle that.
I love taking long showers. It's one of the ways I like best to get over being overwhelmed.
As far as shaving goes, I found a long time ago that the hair on my arms and legs itched and drove me to distraction when it was being rubbed the wrong way by clothing, so I started shaving almost all of it off...except down there. To paraphrase the German lady, that's a mark of maturity, and quite frankly if my husband weren't interested in a mature looking woman I'd be worried. I may trim a bit with scissors for neatness, but that's it.
If you are having "rash issues" with soaps, shaving, etc. I would recommend you switch to soaps with no perfumes, no dyes, and deodorant made for "sensitive skin". Consider switching to laundry soaps and fabric softeners also with no perfumes or dyes.
As for cleaning the house, I'm one of those super sensitive people. I have tips for that too. I'm incredibly sensitive to odors and can't use any of the stuff on the market these days and think most of it is probably bad for people anyway. So I mix up a spray bottle of 50% white vinegar and 50% water and I use that to clean almost everything. I hate the smell of vinegar, but it's not harmful and it's an odor that goes away very quickly. Baking soda is a good natural cleaner too.

I've always had a problem regularly brushing my teeth, I have no idea why but when I sink into depression it is the first part of my routine to go.
Aside from that I really can't stand feeling dirty. I love having baths and grooming myself and making myself smell nice.
You just totally described me... 100%
Good to know it isn't just me. I avoid tanks and shorts a lot, because I dislike shaving. With me as well, it's not a sensory thing, but more of a laziness thing. The teeth brushing thing, same way. Sometimes it's not even when I get depressed, usually just because I get busy and say screw it. One thing that's helping me now is that I started selling Avon... and of course the first thing I bought myself was hair removal cream. It worked so I just got three more bottles LOL. Easier than shaving, though I will say I will probably neglect that too because it's weird sitting there for ten minutes not moving my legs LOL. Same as you, I like to smell good though... I guess the best way to sum everything up is that in a lot of ways I'm the typical little girly girl, but routine in these areas are hard for me, I get bored with the whole, shave, makeup, white teeth, whatever type of s**t.
I don't care about shaving my legs except when I go to the beach and swim in a pool, which only happens once per year during summer vacations. I also don't care about shaving my armpits unless I use a short-sleeved blouse.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter since I seem to suffer from an excessive body hair condition called: "hirsutism" so basically, my whole body's covered in hair so why bother?
My skin's also quite sensible. I already got two big scars on my left leg that originated from razor-wounds and since I have the bad habit of picking scabs, they got a lot bigger. Still, it's not like I care a lot about the scars either.
Aside from that, I bathe and wash my hair daily and wear clean clothes everyday.
