Eight year gap in work hisroty, four year degree.

I will have a Bachelor's in two years and by then I will have had an eight year gap in my employment history.

I've been receiving SSI for the last 6 years. I would never want to tell an employer this.

How bad is this?

One thing is, it's a tough job market out there. Unemployment rate officially about 9%, but if you add people working part-time who want to be working full-time, it's more like 16%. Hopefully, things will be better in two years.

And also, maybe apply for a job your own terms on your own schedule while still in school? And that way, some more recent work history.
