"You'd be so pretty if you tried."
I get this often, especially from family. At one point, after being constantly pestered, I turned around and said, 'Well, I don't really want a guy who's that shallow. If he can't deal with a girl who doesn't wear make-up often, how's he going to deal with all of my weird traits and meltdowns?'
I'm alright with clothes, I'll wear skirts and shorts with leggings. However, I'll usually favour jeans and t-shirts for casual wear. I'm not a fan of the LBD, especially the little part. I hate having to constantly shift the hem of my dress down, to avoid the risk of flashing my secret stash!
Most of my friends are petrified about leaving their homes without make-up, I think it becomes a ritual/defensive thing for them.

That's what someone said to me in middle school once. I was annoyed and offended. I'm not prepared to spend countless hours putting on makeup and doing my hair just to impress people. Being clean and wearing presentable clothes are what matters.

I'd respond you'd be so polite if you had kept your mouth shut. Though i think I already said this a while back if any one had bothered so I'll say it again , as I think it's worth repeating.
Actually I agree with the sentiment around here of clean and tidy my "friend" had his wife "demand" that he go to the hairdresser, go to all that trouble to cut off a few mm off a middle aged mans head,
whats the point ? his wife complained it was "to fluffy" Whats wrong with fluffy ? Who wouldn't want to pet a fluffy cat or a middle aged mans fluffy head ? (she should be grateful he stil has hair! )
It was clean and presentable I couldn;t see what the "problem" was. Nt's ![]()

Oh. It's an insult??
I thought it just meant my cousin (best girl friend, other random NT female) was drunk again and trying to wheedle someone, anyone into letting her cut their hair, tweeze their eyebrows, and paint their face. And I was a good candidate because everyone knows I'm gullible.
Actually I thought they were jealous. Because they put in all that effort, and I don't, and we all end up looking OK, but I'm happier with my appearance than they are with theirs.

I only wear makeup for formal events, and I have gotten some comments about how I look so pretty when I wear makeup. I'm just not one of those girls that wants to wear dresses, uncomfortable shoes, or have some high-maintenance hairstyle. I pick out a decent outfit, pull my hair into a ponytail, and call it good.
Yeah, I don't get it. I'm clean and neat, but not fancy. It's hurtful when people make comments about how I need to "try harder" to be pretty. I even had a person offer to pay for me to get a makeup consultation. ![]()
Eh. I got one (female) gynecologist who criticized me for NOT removing pubic hair. Well, not criticized, but she was surprised to, um, see it in a woman in her 20s and she even seemed confused when i told her I was married. (I might be paranoid but she seemed to be confused about the whole thing or a guy who wouldn't mind something like that).
I wonder how many women in their 20's who are married she actually sees... I would especially think that there would be even fewer women who remove pubic hair after marriage, seeing as how people have a tendency to take advantage of the fact that they don't have to doll up as much since they already have their "mate".
I just keep my pubic hair tidy otherwise it itches.
I like wearing mascara because I like the way it feels when it gets hard and I touch it with my fingers. I also like seeing the black lashes in front of my eyes when I'm wearing it (I have blonde lashes). However, I barely wear it because It's not worth the effort to get all of the lashes even the way I like it.
I went gray at 13 and now color my hair back to it's original color. Brown almost black. I wear my hair long, about 4-5 inches past my shoulders and slightly layered to make my wavy hair curl up a little on the ends. I wear bangs but don't like the kind that some women wear when it's so long they get into your eyes. I like mine cut when they are dry no longer than eyebrow length. Long looks more feminine on me and bangs make me look younger. At my age that's not a bad thing.
I usually wear my hair up in a ponytail or twisted into a bun on top/back of my head. Sometimes I'm lazy and just clip it up on top but let the ends stick out and fall down the sides and back of my head. On Sundays I let it down and sometimes curl it. My hair seems to look great to me whatever I do to it. When I am working either at work or at home it's up and out of my way, can't stand for it to get in my way so I can't see. I like it long so I CAN put it up totally out of my way. When I have my hair short I look younger but I don't like it too short and when the wind blows my hair it gets in my face. If I want to impress people I let it down but don't brush it, just run my fingers through it real good to have a sexy look that drives men wild and makes women jealous.
I have fairly clear olive colored skin and don't usually wear make-up. I feel clean and clear is better than make up and broken out. Sometimes I put on make up but I make it look real natural, just an improvement. I get all kinds of comments from females saying, "Don't look like that around the men I want cause I won't be able to get one myself." or "Wow you look great, you should do that more often." The men go gaga and I get serious proposals quite often. It seems I can't go anywhere without some man staring at me, with or without make up and hair done.
I wear cloths that I like that I think look good on me and are comfortable and somewhat stylish for the times. I like my jeans tight but not so tight I cut myself off when I sit down. I don't wear sweat pant's. I think I look awful in them. I do like un-printed t-shirts and sweatshirts. I usually match cloths pretty good. I used to hate it when I was growing up someone would say to me, " Can't you match your cloths?" So I learned that pretty fast. I had to study women's magazines to learn how to put on make-up. My mother was clueless. When I was 19 I did a little runway modeling. I guess by then most people thought I was a regular NT only a little weird sometimes.
All that being said I really am not stuck up and have never understood why people pay so much attention to my looks now. I have a big nose on my face. No I'm not Italian, not one drop. The whole time I was growing up I was told by family members that I was "Ugly as sin." or "The uglyist thing I've ever seen." So I have never understood that I am pretty to most people now. I just don't feel it and really don't care most of the time. Sometimes I look in the mirror when I'm done dolling up and say to myself, "Holy cow, who's that gorgeous woman in the mirror?' I just don't see "Her" as me, but sometimes like to borrow her face.
Sorry for rattling on so...
I do like dressing up and getting made up, though I have rather odd and archaic fashion sense. Most days, however, it's too much effort. I usually roam the house (I don't get out much) in a night shirt and maybe pants. That's if I'm not home alone or only with my husband, in which case, sometimes, I just say, "Sod clothes" and go around in my underwear or jay-bird naked.
I chalk it up to one of my foci being "fashion and beauty". I don't often do what modern styles say I should, unless I like it or have a reason (my hair is very, VERY curly, but I do straighten it occasionally because it's a cleaner look and easier to untangle). I like goth and lolita fashion, I like retro and even older fashions, and the rest of the world can just deal with it.
