One day salt free

Considerable improvement , how many people would know this can contribute to anxiety , I certainly didn't know , why isn't this information freely available  , anyways keep this in mind you will be surprised how much diet plays a part . 8O

Too much salt for me can lead to seizures and hypoglycemic crashes. I can pick up on food that makes me more anxious - the junk food kind. Mostly my meds do the work to keep the anxiety low. I do get social phobic after my meds wear off.

You know, I got told by Centrelink to go back to my awful psych to fill in this form so I can keep getting my pension. I'll do it but I'm still looking for bipolar diagnosis/treatment. It's going to take ages. I'm going to have to go with the expensive yet nearer psych to me. I've been doing ok lately though have been getting depressed after a short mania wears off. By short I mean almost a week.

After a while Centrelink give up on you , last time I was sent to Health Services Australia the Doctor took one short glance at me and told me to go back to my gp and I thought on that day I presented OK  .
Haven't had contact from Centrelink for perhaps 5 years now .

Sorry you confused me what did you mean by bank account?
My gp thinks anxiety and depression are two sides of the same coin , In my experience I think his wrong , why did antidepressants have little to no affect on me ? Yet beta blockers did , strange I went from 180 mg to 360 mg on the BB's and their was no improvement upped it another 180 mg and really noticed the benefits , thank god for the internet I was told in OZtralia you can only go to 360mg , yet in the usa it's 640 mg ! (the dose I'm on )

I'm not sure which beta blockers you are on, since you don't say but there are reasons different countries have different regulations for the medications they approve.

If your doctor prescribed 360mg, they probably did so with regard to the context of your overall clinical picture.

Beta Blockers are also used to treat high blood pressure; when I was taking them they were extremely helpful for my constant anxiety but I had to be careful about orthostatic hypotension induced by the medication. That is, the med lowered my blood pressure so much that if I wasn't careful I could pass out when i stood up.

It eventually got to the point that I couldn't take them anymore.

If you are increasing the beta blockers you take without your doctor's knowledge or supervision PLUS embarking on a very low sodium diet I would say you may be asking for trouble. At least get some professional supervision or advice on this one.

Inderal , changing my diet helps so much more !

You are right the high dose caused quite a drop in blood pressure , hopefully I can get off them sooner than latter , the side effects took quite a while to kick in .

...I keep trying to figure out how to write about something.
Or where i might put it.
Or even what I would title the post?

I can't though. I have no idea how to do it because it seems like... too big of a deal and so inane and ridiculous and like, no one could relate [not in a "i'm so UNIQUE AND SPECIAL" way, but in a "this is so unimportant probably no one else even thinks about it" kind of way.]

I think about this kind of stuff for so long and then bury it because I can't take the energy to try to talk to anyone about it.

I'm posting here because I don't know where else to post, but... I don't even feel like it's about bipolar. I just don't know how to talk about anything important really.

I can't even describe my pain to my rheumatologist with words. Like... I see old stones. or my fingers feel like splinters.

WTF brain.

I supposedly have this large vocabulary and then I can't even talk about anything going on in my own head.

*flops down on couch*

Apparently I'm getting better and better at that frustration tolerance thing though, maybe?

Looks like it's going to be 100% 8O

I'll let you know when I do that thread on the blood type diet , I follow it to the letter apart from the corpse eating it recommends I eat lots of low fat meat , it ain't going to happen, thank god :D

I've read a few threads where people are DX with a "mental illness " that turns out to be diet related , usless doctors where of no help even when I told them my skin complaints where nervous related what did they tell me to do put some cream on it  , these jokers went to medical school to tell me that . have a guess what (one of many) symptoms of a allergy/intolerance , skin complaints

Well, for my part I do need to be on a specific type of diet and it helps with some stuff.

However, several professionals from various organizations seem to think I am moderately to severely nuts [depending on the particular issue] and in this case I would actually tend to agree.

:D

Perhaps the diet doesn't go far enough ? , their may be foods that you would never imagine would agitate your nervous sytem like strawberies (for "o"s ) I think it's a little hit and miss with this blood type diet my suggestion would be to only eat the highly beneficial foods on the "o" diet plan like plums, prunes and sweet potatoe that's all I've been eating the last 2 weeks !

Hope you all get better soon .

Mmm... I don't think that's the case for me, specifically. Though I do think different diets work for some people [for me it's in conjunction with a few things]. What I try to stick to is no soy, egg, dairy, gluten, low glycemic. This is the best I have felt- least anxious, best able to cope with frustration, overstimulation, all those *tion's. I also have almost zero skin issues, my GI problems are greatly reduced and my joints were feeling a bit better for a long time [but that's a whole different issue]. I also tend to sleep better.

It is not always easy to do on a very low budget.

As for the "nuts" I alluded to: I am bipolar, but it's very well controlled. It's really the OCD that is the greatest issue at this point, with the HFA-associated stuff pulling up a close second lately.

So, if I could just figure out how to actually not shut down when I want to talk about things. Anyone else just feel stuck? It's not even speaking at this point. Sometimes it's complete communication about something.

Well it's certainly worth working through who would have imagined pretty little old tasty strawberries could be toxic ?

Oh I get carried away saying 100 % , though can say 100% certain , significant improvement ,

It really bugs me certain "charities " related to mental health don't discuss this , info should be freely available to all

I think I'm hypomanic today. Just a really happy almost weepy feeling. I think I've now leveled out though.

Oh wow, I'm so glad this thread exists because I've always felt kind of alone, being both an aspie and bipolar...it's kinda nice to see I'm not the only one! (I do hope I'm not bumping too much...)

I'm coming out of a pretty bad depressive episode right now. I have type II, so unfortunately those are more common for me than hypomania. On the plus side, like I said, I'm coming out of it, and I've been feeling pretty good lately! :)

How are the rest of you doing right now?

Feeling a tinge of depression but not enough to worry me. I've been doing relatively well for the last week or so, mood-wise.

Likewise, I'll also express gladness over the existence of this thread.
