My parents don't support me.
I have the exact same problem with my mother. When I was in school AS wasn't considered an official diagnosis. Although, as my mother tells it, a doctor did tell her that my brain was developing differently than other kids. My mother kind of ignored that and went with the very over simplified "he has learning difficulties." I had three separate people, one with AS, one with a child with AS and a friend that has worked with kids with AS, and they all agree wholeheartedly that I have AS.
My mother doesn't think I have As. Although in her defense, she hasn't looked into it at all, and I'm not her favorite child. Also I'm 29 years old and living on my own. So, whatever.
