I remember when a new episode of the Cosby show was a weekly highlight each Saturday evening.

For most of my life, we had box TV. I remember well the time before it came with a remote control.

I remember the time when all you had to do to play a game was pop it in the right console and hit the power button

I remember when you could only listen to cassette tapes in the car, not CDs. I remember when portable CD players were connected to a car radio through a wired cassette tape.

I remember when going to restaurants you would be asked "smoking or nonsmoking?" and would be seated in the section you chose.

1. When one couldn't take a telephone out of the room where it was installed.

2. When a phone was referred to as a "telephone."

3. When you couldn't buy a phone; instead, you had to rent it, and wait for it to be installed by a representative from Ma Bell.

I remember this computer. My friends father worked with macs right from the beginning. I only remember we used the drawing program. When the machine started up I seem to remember we had to type in a code on a black screen to open the program.

I remember when cable television companies used to encrypt the extra-cost premium movie networks & also the pay-per-view networks by using a system which distorted the video signal, showing a picture on the TV screen with wavy, colourful lines which moved across the screen, but you could still hear the audio from the show, and you could only watch the networks by using a cable de-scrambler converter box that you leased from the cable company. I also remember when those premium networks occasionally had "free previews" on weekends, where they came in unscrambled, and they would display a telephone number on the screen for you to order the network.
