wow you people are old.


i remember....tracking the 2008 atlantic hurricane season very closely.

When I was a kid...

"Hooking up" was something you did with a TV antennae.

A cell phone was what you used for the one call you were allowed to make while in jail.

A "flatscreen" was what you put up in windows to keep the bugs from coming in.

The only air conditioning was opening the car window.

Ice cream came in only two flavors...okay kidding, I'm not *that* old!

Incan remember when kiwi fruits were exotic.

I remember when there was a cookie which was similar to Oreo cookies called Hydrox.

that's an objectively terrible name for a cookie. no wonder they're gone now.

I too can easily remember a time when we had two TV channels, one Norwegian and one Swedish.
I remember the coming of the Scandinavian channel TV3 (which started out the same for the 3 Scandinavian countries, but ended up with one for each after some years). I remember MaxSat, their kids' show hosted by one Norwegian girl and two boys (Danish and Swedish), and how at the end of the day's schedule, they'd play snippets of all 3 national anthems. I always liked watching that.
I remember well when we got our next 2 Norwegian channels, TVN and TV2.

I remember when Mr. Kekkonen was elected the fifth time for the Finnish president. The country was nicknamed Kekkoslovakia.

I remember back when VHS tapes were still used, and when we still used CRT computer monitors. Ahh... those were the good times...

I remember when floppy disks were used in computers. I remember playing SimCity 2000 on a floppy disk.

I remember when in order to play a computer game you had to have the CD in the computer.

I remember when Art Bell was the host of the creepy night time radio show called Coast To Coast AM, and I also remember when the show was taken over by George Noory after original host Art Bell quit & returned to the show multiple times.

i remember using a floppy disk a couple of times for school when we still had computers that supported them.

I also remember when my schools had Apple computers which used floppy discs & CD-ROMs.
