I have noticed that there is no meetup thread for the American south-east.
There are basically no aspie support groups here either.
I live right along the border of Florida and Alabama. I go to see family in New Orleans almost every month.

I have no idea where or how to plan a meet up but I would suggest a book store, museum or national park.
Meeting other aspies would make me feel less isolated. I have never met another aspie and I would really like to.

Are any other aspies interested? Nothing is planned so I am basically open to everyone's ideas.

I'm on the Alabama-Georgia Border and I might partake if it is within reasonable distance.

I live on the Arkansas/Missouri border in the Twin Lakes area (Mountain Home). About two hours away from Branson or Springfield, MO. Like others here, I haven't had much interaction with "my own kind" so I'm interested in just about any kind of get together or activity within a reasonable distance. Or, since, this is sort of a summer resort area, let me know if you'll be visiting the area.

Hi all... I started an adults-only support group for autistics in early 2011 in Chattanooga, TN. Sorry I never posted until now.

The GCA Centre for Adult Autism has two support groups. The GCA Chattanooga group meets on the first Tuesday evening of each month from 5:30-7:00 PM. The GCA North Georgia group meetings on the second Thursday evening of each month from 5:45-7:00 PM.

For more information, contact Scott Kramer at [email protected]. Thanks.

I am in Chattanooga TN. You should consider coming to the 3rd Annual Southeast Adult Autism Symposium on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in Chattanooga. All sessions are geared toward autistic adults and young adults. For us (not including parents and ASD Professionals who will also be there) by us.

A Welcome Reception takes place the afternoon before the Symposium. A very loose and relaxed environment. A lot of prize giveaways every year at this event. A great way to make new friends.

The dinner after the Welcome Reception is a great way to continue talking with the friends you made at the Welcome Reception or make new friends at dinner. We will have a couple of hosts for different restaurants.

The Symposium is a day at the Chattanoogan Hoyel, where people get valuable information on adult autism issues they cannot find on the internet or on Facebook elsewhere (except for online groups perhaps).

After the Symposium, the Closing Reception takes place at the Chattanoogan in the form of an Ice Cream Social. Ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc. will be served up during this time.

Registration waivers are available to people who would not otherwise be able to attend the Symposium due to a financial or economic hardship that would prevent them from attending, they can contact me at [email protected].

I am an autistic adult who was officially diagnosed at the age of 40 - and founded the Symposium.

If you know of someone who would benefit from the Symposium, please share this with them. The website for the Symposium is https://www.gcaspies.org/symposium homepage.

Much thanks, Scott
