Very nearsighted also - at one time my lenses were around -10.25 but that was really way too much correction. I couldn't read for close and was not interested in bifocals when I was around 20. My prescription is more comfortable around about -8.50 (not sure of the exact #'s). I also had cylinders in my lenses one time - not sure what that was for.

Actually, Near sightedness is SO common, that I would EXPECT most of you to have it. BTW when I was a kid, I probably did more reading than ANYONE!! !! ! I had insomnia and sometimes would read through the night! I didn't have ANY problems until about about 27 years later, and THEN I just had astigmatism. About 3-4 years ago I became FAR sighted! So ****NOPE**** reading does NOT cause near sightedness. I used to read ALL the time and some writing was fuzzy and small. ICs in the 60s-70s were not NEARLY as clearly marked as they are today.

I'm nearsighted. My glasses are -6.00, but they under-correct just a little, because I prefer it that way.
