His little body, burned brown by exposure, suddenly caused him feelings of intense shame, for he realized that it was entirely hairless, like some low snake, or other reptile.

"I hear the falling blobs distinctly; amplifying, they fill my sensory auditorium. I realize it is my heartbeats, transformed, that I am hearing."

"Tirian had never dreamed that one of the results of an Ape's setting up a false Aslan would be to stop people from believing in the real one." Found in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Last Battle. In which case the Ape represents man setting up a false God (Aslan) and disproves it's existence, therefore preventing any belief in a real God or Universal Consciousness. Just tossing ideas around here.

"Waves transport energy from one place to another. As waves travel through a medium, the energy is transferred as vibrational energy from particle to particle of the medium."

IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS HARMLESS
I WOULD HAVE KILLED IT MYSELF.

"He had his targets, and his taunts were cruel and calculated: Elizabeth, so shy she rarely spoke, the whiteness of her skin punctured by freckles ("Miss Chicken Pox'); Ginny with her faint mustache ("Forget our razor today?"); Duncan and his deep nasal breathing ('Duncan Vader')."

"In man there is implanted a sporting instinct to side with the underdog, but this is in man, the individual. Mob psychology is different from individual psychology and the psychology of the pack is to tear down the weaker and devour the wounded. Man may sympathize with the underdog, but he wants to side with the winner."

"[He] had a talent for making friends. Upon his declaration, half the crowd surged forward to kill him and the other half announced that they, too, would like to kill him and that the first half should get out of their way."

I'm not sure why, but it made me laugh when I read it. I imagine that there were a lot of friendships born in that surging, angry mob united by their hatred of him.
