Dizzy Spells
Lately, I have been having dizzy spells. Usually in the morning and usually before I have a proper meal. Today I was cooking brunch and then suddenly felt extremely dizzy like unbalanced. I ate my meal and felt better went on my day. But it began to happen again afterwards a few hours later. What I had for brunch was hashbrowns, fake bacon, tofu scramble, and some french toast. Brunch stuff.
Anyone else?
Any suggestions on what could be going on?
dizzy like you might pass out (circulation problems) or dizzy like the room was spinning ( ear and balance system problems)?
my first thought is low blood sugar due to the timing. easy enough to check by borrowing a family member's or friend's glucose testing system. check sugar when you're dizzy. if it's around 45 or lower, that's what's up. can avoid low blood sugar through frequent small meals, especially by always including the slow digester, protein. (think peanut butter crackers as a snack.) a doc could give you more info.
I get woozy if my meal is too carb laden. Temple Grandin talks about this too. Try a day with lean proteins and plenty of fresh vegetables (no starchy ones) and fresh fruit; lay off sugary stuff. I'd almost guarantee you feel incredibly different. If not, it might not hurt to have a glucose tolerance test, you might be lightly hypoglycemic.

We are not so different from potted plants in that, if given everything we need to be properly nourished, the outcome can be incredibly contrary to when we are not. A flower won't grow in flour, and neither can we.
I used to feel like that once in a while. One time (about 2 years ago) I felt real dizzy and woke up on the kitchen floor, I passed out for seemingly no reason.
It does happen when I stand up.
But I talked to my dad and he said he had the very same thing when he was skinny like me. So IDK. Maybe it's normal?
Not exactly 'normal,' but possibly 'not that bad.' It's still probably a good idea to describe what's happening to a real medical person, though. If it's the blood pressure, it makes you more likely to pass out but also means you're unlikely to pop an aneurism when you get older.
I don't remember the last time I saw a doctor or even talked to a doctor.
i get that to! usualy when i'm in a social situation or solving visual puzzles on my spare time i also get it realy bad when i drink coffee for some reason :O

You can go to most pharmacies and plug in a few quarters to have a machine take your blood pressure. 120/70 is considered 'normal.'

It might be due to low blood sugar and attempting too much activity. Or, it could be too much sugar in coffee or drinking a sugary beverage before eating a proper meal.
