Spelling Bees

Has anyone participated in one? I've never been in a spelling bee myself, but I do enjoy watching them on TV.

I've participated in a Spelling Bee when I was in Grade 6. I did better than I thought I would.

I made it to the junior high school spelling bee tournament after winning my classroom spelling bee. In the tournament, in front of all or our parents, I incorrectly spelled the first word I was given---uneducated--- :oops: .

Not something that was done in the UK, but I think I would have done alright in one of those. We used to do spelling and get homework for it all the time in primary school, I would say that's where a majority of my spelling skills come from.
