I used to bite my nails too, and my mom would paint my nails with bitter tasting stuff so my nails would taste bad, but that didn't stop me from biting them. I bit them anyway. I eventually stopped biting my nails on my own, without really trying. I guess I grew out of it.

I haven't stopped it yet, though I do it only when no one can see.

I was just wondering if anyone used to lick their hands when they were younger- or even still, now in order for them to feel 'moist' because you couldn't tolerate the sensation of dry hands?

...I used to do this, so I just wanted to know if others did this. :)

actually, yes.

i also have always..... smelled the backs of my hands for some reason. i find the scent of my skin comforting  . i would probably like other people's skin scents too, but i don't think i could get away with smelling someone else's hands!! !

EDIT: i also like to leave my hands damp after i wash them

I think I might have done that when I was younger...

I really can't stand the feeling of dry hands though, so I constantly wash my hands, which makes them dry (as in xeroderma) and the sensation even worse. I don't like the sticky feeling of lotion, so I only put on lotion when it gets really bad.

That's like me, too...although, I'd never heard of 'xeroderma' before, however now that you mention it, it's possible that I also have it.- My skin peels A LOT and gets itchy sometimes; particularly with my hands. I too, have opted to use lotion, but only when it gets unbearable.

Now that I think about it more, I used to use my teeth to pull the little hairs off the top of my hands and on my fingers. I got scolded for it so often that I eventually broke the habit, and then I started in on chewing the inside of my mouth instead. I completely forgot about that.
