Sorry, this has probably been posted already, but just saw yesterday that Zuckerberg apparently has Aspergers-as do many in Silicon Valley.

Isn't it ironic that the person who may have taken the biggest step to make the internet more social, himself seems to have a social impairment?

This is probably the ULTIMATE irony because of the fact that he has AS.

Anybody have a link? I can't find anything that says that he's been assessed, diagnosed, or publicly discussed the issue. I see lots of people speculating on the web but nothing that's official.

In high school, he was captain of the fencing team - seems a position that requires some social skills.

Probably this is simply an instance of the "computers genius = aspie" meme.

Why would someone want to claim that they've seen something if they can't give even the slightest reference?

I was being sarcastic earlier, it is just speculation

Or his portrayal in that Facebook movie

Sense I do not know him at all I don't care to say whether or not he has it. But captain of fencing team- fencing is 1v1 like wrestling, unlike basketball, football etc. So I do not think that is too much of a reason for why he is not an aspie.

Aspies tend to have problems with motor-skills & move awkwardly

Very true, forgot about that. Fencing is all about finesse (just woke up, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to respond so quick)
I am definitely a klutz.

Sometimes we can have a surprising skill even though we are clumsy with everything else. I am very clumsy and not good at sports at all, even though I was on the girls basketball team in high school. However, I went out for majorette and our PE teacher taught those of us who wanted to learn to twirl, how to twirl. I was surprisingly good at that. I have no idea why I have that particular skill, but I was one of the best on the team, and one of the few who was allowed to handle a fire baton.

I don't think it was a matter of liking twirling more than basketball, or of practice. I practiced both just as much and liked both just as much.

Wierd huh?

Don't know if he got an official diagnosis or not-that's really between him and his doctor. It's a spectrum disorder, tho, so it's hard to attribute traits one way or the other. I do know that a hedge fund guy-who's name escapes me-he was profiled in the big short WAS diagnosed with aspergers disease
