just think about it, every one is alike, one person in charge, and every body has there own job.

....but they all get allowed to wear different coloured hats - they are allowed freedom of expression and so can't be communists. I think they're more like the moonies, personally.....

I think you misunderstand the basic principals of true communism, but anyway...

Every time I hear about smurfs I'm reminded of Donnie Darko. Anyone who's seen the movie will know what I'm talking about

The funny thing is, when I showed it to my friend, he was literally leaping up and down on our futon at the misinformation Donnie's friends were spouting off. I told him to calm down and just watch it for a moment, and after Donnie finished his speil, my friend said "That's almost exactly what I was going to say!"

Donny Darko is great. Smurfs were good too

I thought the Smurfs were a Monarchy. Don't they call the place they live "Smurfdom" or something like that? I miss that show, it's so amazing.

Also living in a village with 100 little blue men and yet there is only 1 little blue woman in Smurfette, that's gotta be tough and HOW do they reproduce? Talk about a repressive society where the leader is the only one in a non-white cap (a red one) who controls the magic powers. Don't forget the threat of being chased by a deranged sorceror and his crazy cat. Tough life.

All in all, I did watch the Smurfs on TV (the syndicated, not the saturday morning one) when I was a kid.

That cartoon makes me want to smurf.

A friend of mine said the exact same thing. I think we laughed for quite a long time about it.

There are more men than women in Smurf society! They'd have to be...

For some reason there are no old people other than Papa himself and in some episodes a Grampa. So I wonder why only Papa (and Grampa) can have Baby Smurfs and the other's can't. Must be some gene pool control. Could you live in a country where not only a mother can only have one child but only a certain-selected fathers can be approved to have a child?

And where are the mothers of the blue folks anyways? Papa can have a ton, but would need a few mates.
