I've watched this series of videos on Youtube called "The foundational Falsehoods of creationism" by a user called Aronra. It's a series similar to Thunderf00t's "Why do people laugh at creationism?" except that he refutes 15 foundational falsehoods spread over 17 videos.

Since I don't know how to embed whole playlists and I don't want to post all 17 videos, here are the first 3. Each entitled with the first 3 foundational falsehoods of creationism, respectively as "evolution = atheism", "scriptures are the 'word of God'" and "human interpretation = absolute truth":

The remaining 12 falsehoods are respectively named:

"Belief = Knowledge"

"Evolution is a religious 'ism'"

"Evolution must explain the origin of life, the universe and everything"

"Evolution is random"

"Mutations are rare and always harmful decreases in genetic information"

"No transitional species has ever been found"

“The evolutionary ‘tree of life’ is nowhere implied either in the fossil record, nor in biology.”

“Macroevolution has never been observed.”

“Evolution is a fraud!”

“Creation is evident”

"evolution is 'just a theory'"

The last two falsehoods are split over two videos each. If you're interested, the whole playlist is in the link below and is just under 3 hours. Let me know what you think:

Of course macro-evolution has been observed. It's been observed within the fossil record specifically in regard to human evolution.

Yes, all of those statements are false and are usually spouted by creationists. That's why they are called falsehoods and the video series is about refuting them. Have you watched them yet? I gave the link to the playlist and it's quite good.

I will try, but it's after 12:30 in the morning here.

No problem. Sorry, I didn't realize what time it was there. The entire playlist is 3 hours long unfortunately, so I guess I'll check this thread later then.

This is the most kickass AronRA produced video.

Btw, damn, time flies, it feels like yesterday that I made this one and a half year old thread.

I agree, that is a good video. He makes a lot of sense. AronRa also posted an updated version of that video which includes corrections:

There is evolution. The difference between micro evolution and macro evolution is whether humans were able to observe it happening in real time or not. Most evolution is far too slow to be observed by humans so we must infer it from traces found in the environment.

Agreed. That's why I brought up the fossil record, where it can be observed with human evolution.

Regarding the first video - yes, indeed, the interviewer is simple.

Also, if macroevolution is defined as speciation, as it is by evolutionary biologists, then the fact is that it has been observed.

But the underlying process, natural selection, is generally not observed when it happens. It is inferred from the results.

Yes generally, because its mostly an extremely slow process in multicellular organisms but it has been observed in some microorganisms such as bacteria.

Yes. Actually what is observed in micro-organisms is variation or mutation or cross linking. That can be observed in real time in organisms the reproduce rapidly. Even then, natural selection is inferred by observing what variants survive to reproduce themselves.
