My Mum is starting to have "naps" (which seem to last for 1-1.5 hours) in the late afternoon/early evening. She does not have a job, but she is very stressed out due to my father's behaviour. She seems to be sleeping more out of feeling depressed and having little to do because my father is downstairs and therefore she cannot go downstairs (feeling depressed, therefore making her tired) than out of actually feeling tired because she's been doing strenuous mental/phsyical work.
I am very, very worried about her as she does not acknowledge the fact that she is tired because she is feeling depressed. She yells at me when I mention it.
What can I do?!?!?!?

I have trouble sleeping because I think about my past!

I get very anxious in bed and don't sleep until the morning!

I should be waking up in the morning!

Do you know of any remedies for your insomnia?

My Mum has the problem of thinking of the present.

Perhaps I should make sure all the lights are off in my apartment!

Lights off, tuck yourself in bed, hot milk with honey, warm pyjamas (not too warm though!) on and a really relaxing book (now for me that's a theoretical chemistry textbook, so don't look to me for this!).

Drink Valerian tea, or take Valerian pills. They're related to Valium, but they're nowhere near as potent, and they're holistic/herbal.

The Valium is for me when I'm flying into some psychotic rage... Not that I've done that recently...!
