I have Aspergers and have been taking zyrtec (not sure what its called in the United States, that's the brand name in Australia.) for a week or so now for hay-fever and have had severe mood swings, anger problems. I have 2 children with allergy problems who also take it, one child has aspergers also and i have noticed he has become angry and hyper since he started being given zyrtec junior, while my other child who is not autistic has no visible side effects.
Do you think this is coincidence or does anyone know of a correlation between autism and side effects to second generation antihistamines.
BTW. active ingredient in this product is Cetirizine.
Any info or personal experience with this drug would be appreciated.
