The US was building a partical accelerator in Texas (my neck of the woods). It was called the Superconducting Super Collider. It would have been bigger and bader than the Swiss version but congress killed the project in 1993 or 1994 . My chemistry professor at the time said the Swiss would do it first. And looks like he was right.

Ever get the feeling this sounds like the beginning of sci-fi film in modern times?

In heaven, when we get to see our score lists, it'll say "Killed by a scientific experiment.". Isn't that worth it?

Don't know how black holes work in this thing but what happens if it goes wrong and end's up getting bigger...

Probably not possible as I know jack about this stuff...

Ye since the gov could probably cut it by 80% than people trying to cut it down...

with all these lit up roads and that - staying on all night.... and companys leaving them on...
