Yeah, some foods do have odd tastes like those of other food. Other people seem confused if I tell them what something tastes like, a few weeks ago I had a victory on this front though, when my brother said he tasted something that bothered me as well! Though, he said it was just a slight taste when for me it was overpowering and ruined the food.
But for me this is still probably different from yours as it's more a part of generally sensing these horrible sidetastes in food, many of which I can't describe and connect to anything else I've tasted (expect possibly some awful taste I've tasted in some other food) I hate this so much, because sometimes it happens to me that something I previously enjoyed changes taste for no apparent reason (sometimes I think it might be because they changed the recipe or something, as when these cookies I used to like started tasting awful they had done that. No one else tasted anything wrong with them, of course. Sometimes I wonder if there's just something wrong with my sense of taste like this example ->), earlier this year I was at a restaurant and was eager to get to eating my favorite food...but...it didn't taste anything like it did before. It tasted very strongly like sour cream & onion chips, which was truly awful. It was my favorite food but it's now ruined, forever. This has been happening to many foods throughout my life, but it seems to be increasing in frequency, which is worrisome so I am afraid that someday there won't be anything left in the world that tastes good to me.
Something random, for a few months now our fridge and freezer have been awful, anything that is put in either of them is infused with this horrible smell, or sometimes even taste. Good side? I haven't been eating nearly as much candy (and so the rest of my family have gotten a lot of candy from me haha).
