Child Victim of Newtown was autistic
It's obviously equally as sad for all the victims, irrespective, but I just read this about little Dylan Hockley:
When she asked him why, he replied: "Because I am a beautiful butterfly."

I love the media spin.
Asperger's made Adam a monster-- and rest assured, anyone who kills for shits and giggles is a monster-- and autism made Dylan an even more innocent victim.
Would Dylan have grown up to be a menacing psycho if another menacing psycho hadn't nipped him in the bud??
Nobody knows. Nobody would say. You know what?? Because autism didn't make Adam what he was-- HATE DID. Autism didn't make Dylan a beautiful butterfly-- LOVE DID.
I realize I tend toward black and white, concrete thinking. They tell me I tend to be childlike to the point of stupidity when I'm not using my cynicism. But come on, Homo sapiens. This isn't complicated. It might be difficult-- it requires open arms and a giant leap of faith-- but it isn't rocket science. It isn't human genome research. It's LOVE.
I hate my cynicism-- when I use it, I remind myself a little bit too much of Adam Lanza. Not that I'm going to kill anyone, but-- I'll be he was plenty cynical, too. You don't shoot children because your heart is flowing over with peace and joy.
Maybe we could all get together and make an effort to make cynicism less necessary. Do you think that would work??
Nah. I'm an ignorant retarded hillbilly sociopath. Incapable of compassion or remorse (not to mention sarcasm!), and not very smart to boot. What could I possibly know??
Footnote: At an estimated statistical frequency of 1 in 33, I was so sure that one of those kids was going to turn out to have been on the spectrum that I actually spent about 10 hours of a 36-hour drive writing that little speech in my head.
One in 33, folks. Think about that. Can we really afford to write off 1 person out of every 33?? And that's just autism. Depression?? Anxiety?? Oh, dear-- now we're up to 1 in 9. It won't kill us to get loving-- but not doing so just might.

What do you mean that autism was the cause he was killed?

Dillogic is being sarcastic, I think.
Poor Dylan. That just makes me want to cry all over again. It's not fair. I could imagine saying something like that too, if someone had asked me why I was flapping my hands.

I went to Newtown schools It is completely tragic and I really do not care what spin they put on it.
It is time for this world to wake up and realize that governments and societies have removed most of the facilities and institutions that helped people with disorders, disabilities and mental illness for favor of mainstreaming. However now there is not enough open resources for doctors, healthcare workers and special ed professionals to learn from.
Newtown was the site of one of CT's largest Psychiatric facilities, at 185 acres Fairfield Hills was home to over 4000 mentally unstable patients, it was closed in 1992, and is in walking distance of New town high school (2000' away) and 20 miles away from Newtown was NY's largest Psychiatric facility, at 960 acres the Harlem Valley complex (80 buildings) at last report in 1959 was home to 7000 mentally challenged patients and 5000 employees but was closed in 1994.
Where in hell did they think everyone was going to go??? daaahhhh are they suprised???
My mother has Schizophrenia, my father aspergers, my neighbor schizophrenia and her mother autism, My brother sister and I have aspergers, geeeeeee let me think. that's just with in the five houses on my road.
All of the professionals that benefited from hands on training at these facilities would be retired or gone by now.
That is why we are seeing an upsurge. Less experience and no facilities, just more arrogance from those with alphabet soup on their names.
Asperger's was not the direct cause. The intelligence it afforded Adam Lanza may have masked the underlying monster lurking with-in.
Unfortunately nobody knew enough to recognize it.
AND i was sent to Newtown schools because of their excellent shop and tech programs. They were terminated in the early 2000's when they figured out why they had so many aspie's moving to town. shhhhhhh nobody is supposed to know. It was not a sleepy little town it was the town that thought nobody was watching!
To top it off right now my our school district is refusing to comply with IDEA act and evaluate my son. so we have to advocate for that.
I mean; Does my above statement about my families mental health make you feel warm and fuzzy? child-find where are you?
If anyone has time please write your politicians! Guns and Disorders need to be addressed.
