Is it normal to think...
...that you're the only autistic person in the world? For example I'm here right now and I can make an effort to understand what others are writing and relate to it (i.e. cognitively reach the conclusion that I experienced similar events and feelings) but give it some time and I barely feel the same way anymore, forgetting there are others currently experiencing some of the same problems as me right at this very instant.
I guess I kind of used to be like that, before I joined the forum or more importantly, met autistics in real life.
The feeling of finally speaking to people who understood, both online and offline, was great for a little while, but recently I've felt just as alien at the autistic meet-ups, and even right here on Wrong Planet, as I normally do in daily life.
I know I'm not the only one with some of these issues, heck, I even know some people have it worse than I, but at the same time I have trouble connecting.
