Never mind. A news article about homeland security still urging users to disable Java on NBC.com gave a link to instructions. Everything is good now...but for how long?

I read a technical article yesterday stating that Java has so many unpatched security flaws it would take around two years for all the bugs to be fixed, during which time more critical security flaws will likely be found. I think the will has gone to take Java forward; it is gradually slipping into obsolescence.

Unfortunately, I can't uninstall it on the Vista because it is required to play games like Minecraft and Terraria. I hope nothing bad happens. Is there an alternative program or will I have to give up those two games for the sake of internet safety? Like I said, most of my video recording activity takes place on that computer. I don't want anything to happen to it.

More Java security vulnerabilities reported today in Slashdot:

Quote:
"Oracle's long security nightmare with Java just gets worse. A post to Full Disclosure this morning from a security researcher indicated that two new sandbox bypass vulnerabilities have been discovered and reported to Oracle, along with working exploit code. Oracle released Java 7u11 last Sunday and said it fixed a pair of vulnerabilities being exploited by all the major exploit kits. Turns out one of those two bugs wasn't completely patched. Today's bugs are apparently not related to the previous security issues."

Im guessing you guys are talking about the Day zero exploit that java haves right now. Yeah, that lead to a keylogger being installed on my PC and the hijacking of my steam account.
