Bronies are hated because they have a special name for themselves. The whole idea that older fans of a show need a special name is the worst type of identity politics.

I would be perfectly happy talking to an older person who likes to watch My Little Pony, but if they identify as a "brony" it's a huge red flag. It would be like talking to an atheist who identifies as a "Bright".

Y'know how furry's call the hate for furry's "fursecution"? Maybe the bronies should make a similar term for brony haters

"Ponyphobia"?

"Broscrimination"?

"Hoofopponent"?

I agree with this statement 100%

Actually, MLP haters are hated as much as bronies.

Yeah I don't get it either but I sure as hell wouldn't think badly of anyone who likes it. South Park is my thing. Ren and stimpy was pretty good too.

I'm more of a Simpsons/Family Guy fan myself. Throw in a few Stargate episodes and I'm happy.

:D

I'm not a fan myself, but I have no problem with people liking it. The thing is, I just can't understand how teenage and even adult males like it. Because it did originally start out for little gilrs like my sister.

Since most of the hate (or lack of understanding) seems to be directed towards male My Little Pony fans, I'm curious...

... How do people feel about teenage/adult females enjoying My Little Pony? :?:

I don't see what's weird or wrong with that. I've read much worse fanfics than that. I think it's close minded to hate and discriminate against others for their fantasies.

O, they're fine, 'cause they're still girls!

Sexism and all that.
