I've tried to make myself become obsessed with things that I like on a casual level. Sometimes it feels like it works for a little while, but the passion isn't nearly as strong as it is for obsessions that happen naturally.

Well, I can kind of steer my obsessions. I've been more able to let them go and "get tired" of them as I get older. Does that count?

I would be unbelievably rich if I could put my intellect and focus to productive use. Alas, I'm stuck obsessing over things that cost money instead of generating it.
